Kuo: iPhone 15 Pro Max demand is outpacing last year’s 14 Pro Max

The iPhone 15 series went on pre-order in the first wave of countries last Friday and we now have some our first set of estimates on how well things are going for it. Noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, suggests the iPhone 15 Pro Max is garnering most of the consumer attention and is outpacing initial demand for last year’s iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Demand for the entry level iPhone 15 and 15 Plus is on par with last year’s iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. Looking over at the iPhone 15 Pro, Kuo suggest demand is lower this year as more users are looking for the updated camera experience on the larger Pro Max model.

Wait times for the iPhone 15 Pro Max are “significantly” longer than last year’s 14 Pro Max, not just because of the higher demand, but also due to ongoing production challenges and an altered production schedule. Lastly, Kuo expects the iPhone 15 series to reach a combined 80 million shipments by the end of the year.
