@Tech_Reve on X chimed in with another Samsung-related report on X and this time, it’s about mobile hardware. The tipster revealed that Samsung will use AMD graphics for its mid-range Exynos chipsets. The new GPUs will appear on Samsung midrangers as soon as next year.

The two companies have been working closely together for a while now as Samsung’s high-end Exynos 2200 SoC’s GPU is based on AMD’s RDNA2 graphics architecture, bringing technologies like ray tracing. The rumored mRDNA, however, will first appear in Exynos 1430 and 1480 and focus more on the image-processing side of things.

As it turns out, Samsung’s main goal is to improve the machine-learning and image-processing capabilities of its budget devices and gaming performance will likely won’t be the main focus.
